I feel for the client. That amount means permanent injury, possibly permanent pain. No amount of money can stop the depression and mental problems to come

Reminds me of people on facebook marketplace asking you what's the lowest you'll take, and then immediately lowballing it after you give them the number

Can you make a video explaining what happens when someone gets in an accident in a borrowed vehicle who lives with the owner vs does not live* with the owner?

It works both ways though. I've been on the side paying out in a mediation, and they said they wouldn't settle for less than $50,000. In the end, we paid $11,500

I'd be curious to see if there's a general pattern for this, like most places tolerate ~20% over their "top number," or if specific (I'm assuming insurance companies) have a specific built-in buffer in their "top number" offer.

Yeah, never say final price then deviate from it, you could maybe offer other things without monetary value immediately attached.

I have decided to believe that all lawyers have a John Cena on standby, ready to put his face through a wall and ask "are you sure about that?"

You have to do this all the time in countries where bartering is the norm, their best price is never their best price

So what about when the shoe is on the other foot? How do you decide when to push for more or take their number?
