Thank you!! Ive been meaning to comment or find a way to message you and ask for tips. I took the frets off an old guitar and filled the cracks, sanded it and put classical strings on.
The first half a dozen times I tried I just couldn't make it sound good, struggling trying to find chords and stuck within western music feel/ear.
This past week I picked it up a couple times, with more of this thought process. Really focusing on one voicing at a time, and play intuitive scales - disregarding any patterns i typically use.
Its been fun. Super challenging but inspiring. I want to start listening to more worldly music to broaden my understanding of scales that lend a hand to the timbre fretless guitar has.
Id love to hear your take on some ancient east Asian esque music on one. Your playing makes me feel like I'm sitting sea side in Athens 6k years ago, or walking through a palace or spice trade route somewhere.

So I also play fretless, and I struggle with the higher notes, have you found a work around? I usually use my nail. I know one person who uses a sort of pitch shifter he places it by the bridge. How do you get those higher notes is my question
