Amarnath is a cave temple located in our state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. Amarnath Cave Temple is situated at a distance of about 141 km from Srinagar.
It is situated at an altitude of 3,888 meters above sea level. This ancient cave temple is said to be more than 5,000 years old.

Worshiped as one of the 51 Shakti Peedhams of the Goddess, this temple is revered as the site of the Shakti Peedham where the throat of Goddess Dakshaini fell.
Inside the Amarnath cave is a Shivlingam made of ice. Visiting this snow lingam is only a matter of time. Because this swayambu is of pani linga form It forms every year from May to August and then melts and disappears. Thus the Amarnath Yatra is started only during these times. This place is called Amarnath as it is the place where Lord Shiva told Goddess Parvati about the secret of life i.e. immortality.

Now let's learn about the history of Amarnath. Once upon a time Goddess Parvati prayed to Lord Shiva to teach her the story of the creation of the universe and the supreme secret of immortality and life. According to it, this Amarnath cave is the place chosen by Lord Shiva to preach to Goddess Parvati.
On the way to the cave Nandi Devar, Chandra Devar, Nagaraja, Vinayagar, Gangadevi in every place like Mamalechuram, Bagalgam Chandan Wari, Seshnag, Panchadharani etc. leaving behind those whom he loved, decreeing that no one should follow him,

According to legend, Lord Shiva is said to have traveled the Pahalgam route to reach this cave. Pahalgam is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra. It is in this place surrounded by mountains Lord Shiva left his vehicle Nandidev It is said.

Next to Pahalgam is Chandanwari at a distance of 16 km. Lord Shiva, also known as Chandramouli, is said to have dropped the moon from his head. It is said that the moon waited here for the return of Lord Shiva. Hence this place is called Chandanwari is called. A little over 3 kilometers from Chandanwari A place called Pishutop is located.

It is mentioned as the place where the battle between Devas and Asuras took place for Amarnath darshan. At the end of the war, the place where the devas who defeated the demons were created with the dead bodies of the demons is called Bishu Top.

There is a place called Sheshnag (sheshnag) about 6 km from Bishoo Top.
Lord Shiva is said to have left the naga around his neck here. The blue lake here is said to be the proof of this.

After this the place which can be reached at a distance of about 5 kilometers is called mahagubeauty. ahagunash has beautiful waterfalls and natural beauty It is said that Lord Shiva left his son Ganesh on the hill.
Panjtarni is about 9 kilometers from here
There is a place called Lord Shiva is said to have left the Panchabhutas at this place.

The confluence of five rivers is also significant at Pancha Dharani. It is believed that these five rivers flow from Lord Shiva's Jadamudi. The holy cave of Amarnath is located at a distance of about 6 km from Panchadharani.

Amarnath Cave is said to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati met at the end of their journey.

கடல் மட்டத்திலிருந்து 3,888 மீட்டர் உயரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

பழமையான இந்த குகைக்கோவிலானது 5,000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேல் பழமையானதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

தேவியின் 51 சக்தி பீடங்களில் ஒன்றாக போற்றப்படும் இத்தலமானது தாக்‌ஷாயினி தேவியின் தொண்டைப் பகுதி விழுந்த சக்தி பீடத்திற்குறிய இடமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது.

இந்த சுயம்பு பனி லிங்க ஸ்வரூபமானது ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மே மாதம் முதல் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் வரையான காலங்களில் உருவாகி அதன்பின்னர் உருகி மறைந்துவிடும். இதனால் இந்த காலங்களில் மட்டுத் தான் அமர்நாத் யாத்திரை துவங்கப்படுகிறது. வாழ்வின் இரகசியத்தை, அதாவது அமரத்துவத்தை பற்றி சிவபெருமான் பார்வதி தேவிக்கு கூறிய இடமாக இது திகழ்வதால், இத்தலமானது அமர்நாத் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

ஒருசமயம் பிரபஞ்சம் உருவான கதையையும், அழியாமை மற்றும் வாழ்வின் உன்னத இரகசியத்தையும் தனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்படி பார்வதி தேவி சிவபெருமானிடம் வேண்டினார். அதன் படி பார்வதி தேவிக்கு உபதேசம் செய்ய, சிவபெருமான் தேர்ந்தெடுத்த இடம் தான் இந்த அமர்நாத் குகையாகும்.
