I'm working on a FPS/RPG hybrid. While I haven't got it running on the steamdeck yet (still early proto) im building it with the screen size and resolution in mind. I've realized many games are not legible at that size, so building a game from the ground up so that it scales well from a small screen to a bigger one is a priority for me

Hey Weinmann , For steamdeck the distinguishing feature is its geo-locator that you could hypothetically use to customize your game in various ways. The user experience the game a little different in different locations. Or something like Pokemon-Go/Ingress where you can interact with GPS coordinates.
Otherwise the steamdeck is just an overpriced mobile console (which is why I don't have one)

Compared with consoles it build quick and with less issues, but transferring the game is worse. Steam deck should be a target platform with the possibility to build and run directly on your device via usb or network, or at least if steam deck had a target manager that you can drop builds on and get them started automatically. But I just had one sitting with it so I might have missed stuff.

While not built for it, after releasing our Unity game with Windows as the only built platform, we found that it had zero issues running on the Steam Deck without any tinkering. The game is called Updog on Steam, and it’s a very simple (and cheap!) little game if you wanted to see.
