Swimmers Need Good S&C

🏊🏽‍♀️ This is especially important for youth swimmers who specialize early in swimming.

Strength and plyometric training introduces:
1️⃣ Ground reaction forces
2️⃣ Bone compressive forces

🦴 These are critical for building strong bones and aren’t stimulated well in the water.

We want this to be trained during the critical years of bone development during childhood and adolescence.

📊 This can help reduce the risk of bone stress injuries (ex: foot, ankle, shin, hip, and back stress fractures) later in the athlete’s athletic career.

📢 Spread the word. S&C is important for BOtH Performance and Health.

Good points! I didn’t realize young competitive swimmers were at higher risk for stress fractures.

Sir is it okay to always train at the higher rep ranges like 15+ reps. What are the pros and cons of doing high rep training. Thanks in advance sir
