His point about people only knowing surface level reasons behind the choices we make is so true. Many people were given a shorthand reason when they were told to follow Christ / His commandments. Then as they grew up and started questioning things a bit more, low-level theological questions were able to completely destroy their faith. On top of that, most "Christians" are only equipped with low-level answers, and so many people left Christ because they felt that it wasn't able to answer their questions/concerns.
That's why I recommend everyone to go deeper into the life of Christ and His story! The answers will come. There's a reason why we believe in Him.

kinda went in a different direction but I get the point. There is a distinctive reduction in the ability to understand, I would called adult, conversations about why things are done. There is an element of doing a 7 out of 10 good for a moderate amount of results, instead of a 10 out of 10 good for what could be little to no results. A lot conversations center around the 10 out of 10 instead of the reality that most decisions are a 2 to 7 out of 10 good to try for low moderate to high-highs results that might lead to a 10 out of 10 being safe.
The thing is have used so much short hand so much that we have lost real conversations of how much trade route do matter, and having allies that work with you versus the opposition is vital to security.
