The bit at the end "you know your pistons are working well when all 4 come out evenly" respectfully that's really bad & incorrect advice, if you pump your brake lever when the caliper is off the disc, more than likely only the top piston will move the bottom one won't get any pressure behind it to move until its fitted onto the disk & you build up some pressure

I've worked here in Ireland servicing bikes with a mate and the state the brakes were in on a lot of bikes would send shivers down your spine. Pistons and seals covered in crusty salty debris
