I love AA as it's written in the book and was practiced up until around the 70s, when treatment centers started popping up all over the place and sending their graduates (many weren't even alcoholics at all) to AA, who in turn made it into a program that was more focused upon the fellowship and sitting in meetings for group therapy by amateurs, but I digress. LOL
What you were saying is spot on but I also understand the concept of sober is sober. Problem is, those same people say it's just fine to consume a handful of ssris, but weed is off limits. So weird. The original Bill Wilson was all for helping drunks however he could. He was a proponent of the healing effects of using LSD but the more conservative AAs out in Ohio wouldn't have it. My experience with almost 2 years abstinence from alcohol with the help of cannabis and AA in the very beginning, is that it has to be consistent dosing just like any other medication. If you abstain all day and then smoke a joint at night, you're getting high and not sober! That's how I approach it. Anyways, great message!
