And this is New Church (Nieuwe Kerk), a Dutch National Monument completed in 1496.
Its medieval clock tower clock presides over Delft Market Square (Markt).
The royal crown atop the spire honors the resting place of the House of Orange-Nassau. Starting with William the Silent (Willem de Oranje) in 1584.
Along with other notable figures from history. Including the lawyer, philosopher, and author Hugo Grotius whose statue keeps watch outside.
Some consider Delft to be "a tourist town." And tourists certainly come here, mostly on day trips.
But Delft is a real living city of over 100,000 residents. And a longer stay is certainly worth your while.
