Protected health information isn’t THAT protected. Learns new thing every day

But it litterally says "Do not use as a medical device" like it can assist in helping you understanding your health but should not be used as a replacement for a heart monitor because it's not that accurate as a real heart monitor

Using a non medical device to prove a medical case? Isn't that a bit bullshit?

This is why privacy is important if anyone is curious.

See this is EXACTLY why I don't work out. I tried to tell my kids it was bc of legal reasons but they never believe me...

The main problem is software fails all the time, especially these watches

Funny. Some people in comments learning different definitions for privacy today: less “if you don’t have anything to hide show everything” more “that’s none of your business “

That’s why you should never put those trackers from the insurance company in your car to “lower your rates.”

As tempting as it may be to own and use technology like a fit bit or Alexa. Knowing that technology can so easily be misused or used against you and your presumption of privacy is enough for me to stay away

So one more reason to not own any of these smart devices. Got it. 👍

Good lawyer should be able to knock those weak arguments down.. tech ain’t Dr’s

Considering those devices are NOTORIOUSLY incorrect, exaggerated, or just plain wrong. How many times has someone been sitting down at a table and their Apple Watch makes a notification regarding someone taking steps or indicating some activity other than just sitting there

How accurate are these watches anyway? Mine once said the heartbeat of the air while it was lying on a table was 200.

and that's why I turned that crap off. no fit bit, no tracking

After hearing people with Apple watches and Fitbits talk about how those things can’t even accurately track their steps, I think I’m good not having one.

“Based on the information provided by your Apple Watch , it appears that you were not actively working out at the time of the accident. As such, we find no basis to conclude that you were sufficiently predisposed or physically conditioned to sustain the level of injury claimed. Consequently, we must respectfully decline coverage for the damages associated with this claim.”

Yes, take my Fitbit data that I haven't used in ten years that registered me writing as taking steps. Why would this be used in a car crash as evidence against people?

This sounds Orwellian.

It's nice when my cheapness works in my favor. The last watch and "fitness trackers" I used came in happy meal boxes lol.
