I harvest some chestnuts with my son, hoping they were the edible kind. They were not, and I'm only grateful we didn't eat them. Now to decide how to decorate with them instead.

My mom and aunts would have snowball fights with these in California where there was no snow 🤕. Probably a different species, because those ones were inedible.

Chestnuts are great-- except for what they smell like when they're in bloom in the spring 🤮 iykyk. My town is a chestnut town so it is downright stanky in the spring.

This unlocked a childhood memory. Back when I was in middle school we had chestnut trees at the back entrance aka the place we'd spend our breaks. Sometimes while we'd be there chestnuts would just fall on our heads 😂🥲 the fact that I can clearly remember the sensation says a lot . Hurt like a 🐝 ach
