Crying because I miss Fukuoka so much, I studied there in fall semester of 2011😭I clicked this video the second I woke up and saw the notification, you have no idea how excited I was to see you visit my favorite part of Japan!
My favorite ramen place was a tiny hole-in-the-wall type run by this old couple, I don't even remember how we stumbled upon it but they were so sweet and even though they spoke no English they showed us how to order the set ramen (ramen, fried chicken, and small salad) and how much of the toppings to add once everything came out. I think the whole thing was less than $10 at the time, which was wild for the amount of food we got. I still think about them and wonder how they're doing 🥲

Fukuoka style will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first type of non instant ramen I had (was in the US). I still remember the place, now long closed. Cramped, overflowing bookshelf of manga, NHK showing from a TVs. Napkins? No, they did tissue boxes. Good times.
