Whale falls are fascinating. It's amazing to see how many species make their way toward them.

Seeing other animals eat so voraciously on a whale makes whales look kinda appetizing to me. It's like in the Lion King where Timon and Pumba eat literal bugs, but they make it look appetizing.

I dream for the day when we catch a whale fall on camera, I think it would look very interesting and be a hell of an unexpected surprise for the scientists.

Along with the entire pelagic ecosystem, this channel also feeds off of whale falls... This is like the 8th time I've heard about it from this channel and I sure hope it isn't the last

learning something new everyday here, another lovely, informative well produced video! :D 0:28 are those black strips around the bones 'blubber' as well? or is that a sea life of some sort? I think it's cool that the sea life here do make use of all of the carcass to support themselves instead of leaving it in vain to waste away.

Where do all the little blue octopus's come from? I don't believe I've ever seen one before.

It amazes me how these creatures travel from miles around to the whale falls. How do they know? Do they get a text from their friends? It's just incredible how nature operates, and we used to be a part of it. Now we are just destroying it.

I really like the little creature that looks like a ball from floorball (sport called β€œinnebandy” in Swedish), a round plastic empty white ball with fingerwide holes all around. I’ve watched this clip probably seven times already trying to discern whether it for some reason actually is a floorball ball lost in the depth or (much more likely) a little sea creature lol

Rare occasions? I would think the sea, which is full of life, all of it trying to eat or to avoid being eaten must be full of carcasses in differing stages of decomposition. The sea is fascinating.

Not my first question when viewing a whale fall, but I do wonder...have ROVs ever discovered human remains? Like a mob hit clichΓ© with feet in concrete, or body dumped at sea? I gotta cut back on the murder mysteries.

It just goes to show how interconnected all animals are, ocean-dwellers or not. If whales went extinct it would be disastrous for many species.
