Secret Life of Rock Pools. The first 100 people to download ENDEL by clicking app.adjust.com/b8wxub6?campaign=naturalworldfacts_… will gain free access for 1 week.

As the tide recedes along the shores, it uncovers a truly alien world of rock pools. At first look, the landscape presents little more than a barren, lifeless stretch of thick mud and rotting seaweed, strewn with boulders. But these features come together to create a unique habitat. Twice a day, miles of sand, gullies, reefs and rock pools are exposed, bringing into view a wealth of rarely seen marine life. Here, the sparse isolated pools open a window on the many conflicts that these creatures must content with in order to survive. Each rock pool is a tiny but complex ecosystem, home to crabs, shrimps, and all manner of incredible creatures.

All the footage in this video is completely original and was filmed by the NWF team - aka Leo and his girlfriend Ella :D

Filmed on location at La Rocque, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Thank you so much to Endel for sponsoring this video!! The first 100 people to download ENDEL by clicking bit.ly/3DXRzxr will gain free access for 1 week :D This video is a little different to normal - I mainly use public domain deep sea footage from other major organisations for my deep sea series, but in this video all the footage is my own! Rock pools are incredibly beautiful and are so easily accessible, yet they're still really overlooked. I decided to head out and film this on-location to highlight just how close you can come to the marine world by visiting rock pools and coming face to face with this staggering ecosystem yourself. So, I apologise if the change in style or cinematography is a little jarring - this is not a 'new normal' for the deep sea series, and the usual videos with ROV footage and alien-like creatures will return, but nonetheless this is a project I'm very excited to share with you all :)

This sort of live commentary combined with your classic calming narration really is similar to a lot of the nature docs in watched as a kid. Def some of your greatest content yet.

I never would of imagined that the beautiful sounding voice narrating these videos would belong to someone so young. Your wealth of knowledge on all things oceanic is astounding, I feel like you are the next David Attenborough. Well done mate, looking forward to seeing your future content

Lifting up rocks is like a kinder egg surprise, sometimes you see epic animals hidden in there, and sometimes you end up with a snake bite. Truly marvelous.

I'm studying to become a marine biologist. I'm absolutely burned-out out this week, really out there between a part time job and uni. It's really late at night as I write this. I decided to take a break and watch something, anything really and your channel came across. I can't thank you enough for doing all this work! Thank you so much for reminding me why Im studying so hard. Thank you, really 💜

I find rock pools really interesting. It makes you focus on the smaller, less impressive organisms which normally don’t get a spotlight. I also really like this style of video, I’d love to see more

WOAH!!!! It was very mind blowing to hear your voice coming from something other than the void, but it was wonderful to see the person behind the voice! You and Atomic Frontier are the new generation that give me hope in the future. Keep up the amazing work!!!

Many commenters have already mentioned the astounding quality of your work and the charisma of your narration, but I also wanted to point out how well written your scripts are. You could definitely have a career in narration, but also most certainly as a successful author. Many thanks for sharing your passion with the world, your videos are always enthralling :) Also, as a non native English speaker, I always appreciate the CC that comes with your vids. Oops my editing the comment got rid of your like, silly me…

I've always been intrigued by Tidal flats and tide pools since i was young. Exploring those in northern california and up to washington state has always been one of my favorite activities. It made me want to become a marine biologist. I'm an electrician now but i still have a fascination with the ocean, which i return to frequently. Thanks for this video brother!

I just want to say this channel is everything I could have ever wished for in marine life exploration, it really does give me a boost to keep learning, and believe me I’ve read almost everything out there but you simplify and narrate it so beautifully, honestly hats off to you!! I always look forward to your uploads.

Damn, I feel bad that this kid can no longer use footage from other sources and give us his wonderful and informative narration on top of it. The shores of New Jersey aren't filled with an abundance of interesting life forms, that's for sure. I bet we hear his voice on some real documentaries in a few years, however. Or maybe some other type of voice over work? He does have an enchanting voice, and that's a fact.
