Two Approaches to Fix a Hip Pinch

1️⃣ Stretching and forcing yourself into hip IR

This approach seems logical. If you lack hip internal rotation, just do hip IR stretches.

But…. Often this just makes things worse.

2️⃣ Create space in the front of the hip

This approach involves creating length through the glute and learning to shift the hip posteriorly in the socket.

A single leg hip hinge is one technique that works great for this.

With this approach we open up space for the hip to rotate into and have a much better result with getting rid of a hip pinch.

💻 You can learn the exact movement techniques like this that we use for each area of the body in our new course Movement Assessment 10

Dr. Matt, have you watched Connor Harris? He has a lot of interesting biomechanics stuff and might be a fun guest on your podcast.
