When we look at photographs of the Earth taken from space, we see our planet as a deep blue marble. But if we were to go out into space and look with our own eyes, would the world look this blue? The answer is actually no, because the oceans, which cover seventy percent of the earth, can only reflect back eight percent of the light. So the oceans are actually very poor reflectors.

When we look at the sea on Earth, we see the reflection of blue light from the atmosphere above. But if you look at it, especially in overcast weather, you'll notice that the sea looks gray, not blue. That's why when you look from space, the oceans will appear gray, not blue.

So for a true picture of the Earth, you might need to look not at NASA's photos, but at those of the Japanese Space Agency. What do you think, are you disappointed?

I am waiting for your answers in the comments.
