Totally true! I have my tubes tied. I did it at 39 after the divorce six years ago. My daughter is grown. I’m not starting over. Some guys still wear condoms and some want to get out of it. Remember the latest ex I mentioned? Yeah, he was a douche about it. I didn’t trust him after that. Got full panel STI testing months later at my yearly checkup and thankfully was clear. I don’t think I’m going to tell any other guys that my tubes are tied. Like, I won’t lie if he asks if I’m sterilized, but I will answer exactly the question that’s asked and no more. “No, I am not taking birth control.” That’s it! 💯

Also if youre IUD has shifted at all, even still within the uterus, it can become ineffective. My doctor said I was very lucky, then I got my tubes tied at 26 after my body pushed 2 Paraguards out. Im grateful everyday. Doctors veiws on sterilization are changing since Roe v Wade was overturned.

Hello, I would like to recommend using a menstrual disc for those worried about a cup interferring with an IUD. They make both disposable and reusable ones. These sit up higher on top of the pelvic bone and do not use suction. For old school people who have ever used a diaphragm for birth control, a menstrual disc sits in a similar place but deals with your monthly flow instead. In my experience, discs also leak less. Hope this helps!
