We get asked this all the time 🗣 “How far apart should your feet be when you squat?!”

The answer is: there is no one perfect way. Why? Because everyone’s hip anatomy and mobility is different. Your best squat stance might even change over time depending on mobility increasing or decreasing 🤷🏻‍♂️

So, if you’re struggling with finding the right stance for YOU- we challenge you to try messing around with the width and angle of your feet (it’s a process)🔥

Start with your legs shoulder width apart. Do you knees cave in❓Do you feel limited❓Stand back up. Let’s try again.

If your tight groins are causing your knees to cave in, consider taking a narrower stance and pointing your toes out a bit more. Sink down ⬇️ into that squat and see if you’re able to keep your knees and thighs rotating outward ↔️, rather than collapsing in (we don’t want that)!

Narrow stance squatter checking in. I'm 5'7 and the distance between my heels while squatting is 13 inches. I prefer my toes pointing at a 25-30° angle rather than 45°.

Rolling from foot to hip, feet together. Turn feet 45 degrees, bring heels out til feet straight. Squat. Repeat once more if too narrow Squat. You can put toes out if it helps stabalize

A great place to start (for beginners) is to jump just enought to get both feet off the ground. Where they land is where your body naturally wants them to be. But if your hips are not mobile enough and you have chronically tight muscles, then you'll need to work on that and make small changes
