I would argue that your survival and overcoming of that situation would actually be more proof of God. I know I wouldn't have made it through my childhood house of horrors without God by my side, and I am thankful for the strength he gave to come out the other side alive and for the lesson of forgiveness because only by forgiveness can I move forward and leave the past behind me.

Never heard about this in the church nor have I seen it. I’ve lived in many areas different wards and branches and never have seen or heard of sex abuse in the church. I’d imagine the church is true but the people aren’t

Abuse is the crap of the earth perpetrated by pedophiles...period. It's not what God wants. It's not what God teaches. Instead of being loving and kind, AS GOD WANTS, It is the choice that bad people make. God is NOT responsible nor does He allow it to happen.

The reason why people are upset with the church is because the church would rather continue to keep their clergy privilege and not report the abuse in order to maintain the reputation of their leaders at the expense of these children continuing to be abused because they are not receiving the help that they need

Brilliant way to process a tragedy. I also realized that i was the only one daily eating the anger about the abuse. Learning to go forward freed me from victimhood. I now love my life.
