Fasting drastically supported bringing down my blood pressure from 150 to 120, now 100.
However, it spiked my LDL cholesterol to 181 from 168 and the only thing that got it down to 140 was working that metabolic rate and the heart muscle by intense and rigorous workouts ( mainly cardio everyday) for 2-3 months.
We beat the cardiologist and the statins he was trying to prescribe...to live another day!

1. You make excellent points.
2. Iām a 90/10 Carnivore.
3. And I generally fast 22/2 daily.
4. But at 66 & daily working out with weights, Iām finding it increasingly more difficult to have sufficient energy to complete my usual routine.
5. Iām finding 18/6 and incorporating minimal carbs helps with beginning & completing my workouts.

Au contraire: Fasting and then excercising in a fasted state leads to a rise in human growth hormone and testosterone. The best results were shown after an 18 hour fasting period. This makes it very much recommendable to do intermittent fasting (or some type of an OMAD diet) for older people, struggling to grow or even retain muscle mass.

Truth!!! I'm actively doing both at different times and I can see the limitations and the gains for doing both. As with everything, you need to have the wisdom to know when to apply each according to where your body is at the time.
This is where diagnostics and regular testing of your body biometrics is muy importante

When you are old you want first and foremost be free of serious diseases like cancers , which are these times increasing significantly, and probably not very interested in showing your muscles in the gym.For me the choice is clear.
Fasting+exercise+good diet+spirituality= Long life
