Plant Lovers - I bought this Cymbidium canaliculatum 'Jessica' with the beginnings of a spike six months ago so I can't claim ANY credit for the flowers that have just opened...but I haven't killed it so I think that IS worth celebrating! This tropical native Australian orchid is certainly NOT one for my climate but I met a local grower who gave me simple, CLEAR, instructions...and so far so good! The flowers opened and the plant is still alive! The proof of this pudding will be....can I keep it alive to flower next year?? Watch this space!

Wow. Unusual for a cymbidium?

Impressed by the large flowers for a canaliculatum! My Canaliculatum var. sparkesii has mini flowers in comparison. I wonder if flower size is variable?
