These behaviors you describe led to me being diagnosed with bipolar disorder 10 years before my ADHD diagnosis. During these 10 years I had to take various medications around the clock, which temporarily reduced the symptoms. But only since I started taking ADHD medication exclusively have these bipolar symptoms disappeared. Even if I don't take any medication at all for several days, my mood still remains stable.

I work for a non-profit that helps families stay together - but I work in HR and not in "frontline" operations. So - it's hard for me to relate to the purpose of the organization. There is a lady that works with Latin American families and makes craft projects for the kids and feeds the families. I love crafts! She's working on a project for Day of the Dead and told me she's trying to solve a problem for the one of the projects. I haven't had so much dopamine for anything in years...spent all weekend trying to solve the issue. I wish I could have that all the time.

Totally agree that acceptance is helpful if you can be mindful that things will change. This is the difficulty for me. Similar to Plato's allegory of the cave but imagine they are repeatedly set free for a few hours then imprisoned again. Both elation and crushing realisation are soon forgotten as the current reality becomes the only one you can conceive of.

The crash is a daily event for me on ADHD medicine.
I can mitigate it partially with a sensory deprived preferably sitting Yoga Nidra, ideally with short acting methyl phenidate, followed by physical training.
It is a bit like being hit in the head with a no-wilpower sledge hammer.
It is called “The Crash”.

Mine happens exactly in reverse lol. Some days I wake up and feel like a Koala in an apple tree, but as night approaches my brain gets up and go like, "Let's study astrophysics!"
