Yes, this is called PDA. Neurotypicals call it "Pathological Demand Avoidance". However we neurodivergents more aptly call it "Persistent Drive for Autonomy".
We want our autonomy, not someone else's authority. Because it is not often, it seems, we actually remember to do something, and when it's our idea, our motive, and us taking initiative, we're developing on our executive dysfunction, making it more functional. This self prompt gives us more dopamine than being externally prompted. As it has the same mechanism as intrinsic motivation, being our passion or novelty, and extrinsic motivation is associated with chores (aka brain torture).
Them telling us what to do and then stalling/moving on to another task looks like demand avoidance, when in reality it just k*lls our motivation since we already were following a strict to do list in our minds which their interruption causes our working memory to falter.
And then we get pissed off.

As someone with ASD, ya´ll ADHDers ain’t alone in this. I have had the motivation to complete several tasks I needed to do completely vanish the moment someone else points it out. This has even translated to important life-milestones being delayed due to this phenomenon.
