I used to eat my macaroni and cheese with ketchup too! Every once in a while Iāll put a little squirt on my plate

American here, Iāve never liked the boxed macaroni and cheese. The texture is just off. My mom always bought the bagged Macaroni pasta and would make either baked Macaroni or a creamy macaroni over the stove making her cheese sauce from scratch using shredded cheese and a roux. Thatās the way I usually make it too š„°

You didnāt describe the Hong Kong version very much š„². Without descriptions it just looks like plain macaroni in water š

I didnāt have mac&cheese until I was an adult so I donāt have a nostalgic attachment to it. I just donāt like it and think itās highly overrated š¬š¬š¬ā¦

Kraft changed the recipe for mac and cheese / Kraft dinner and it's not the same. It's pretty awful now. Tastes nothing like the mac & cheese of childhood. And it's way less toxic waste orange these days.

I would prefer the HK style one. It's simple comfort food that warms you from the inside. Also it's something I had to eat when I was sick as a childš
Today I want to have it, when I'm sick

When I used to make Kraft Mac and cheese I never added butter, and it tasted cheesy and amazing. That was years ago, but it probably would still work even if the current iteration has less cheese in the packet.

Try replacing the milk with some sour cream and a little water. It brightens the cheese flavor especially when its less watery from less liquid.

I totally agree that Kraft does not taste the same as when we were growing up. If you want to add more flavor to your mac and cheese at a tiny bit of mustard. Same thing for expensive Mac and cheeses that's a known secret ingredient

āGourmeTā i love that, but itās āGour-Mayā from what I know it as someone whoās talking french class, but say it how youād like!

I always add slice cheese and shred cheese to my craft and a splash of milk. Pepper, herbs and serve.

Try The Deluxe Kraft Mac and Cheese. I doctor it up with shredded cheddar and heavy cream.
