This is perhaps the first shipping container home I've seen that feels open and sunlight-filled; the interior white-colored paint helps with that, but so too do the windows Germaine has strategically placed throughout the structure. Privacy appears to be another benefit to this abode: From the street, it looks inhospitable and cold, but, again, the interior is cozy. This "Living Big in a Tiny House" episode has given me inspiration to explore ideas surrounding shipping homes; the $128,000 USD cost she paid is reasonable for the stellar result. Great video!

I wish she had addressed what is under her container. It looks like a separate unit that could be rented. If that is the case, then what a great way to maximize a small lot. The fact that she didn't have to do significant earth work and was able to just place them on an existing carport makes this so much more economical.

It will always amaze me how people can transform shipping containers into such beautiful homes. When looking at a shipping container, essentially an industrial tool, there’s nothing about it that should make us think of anything that resembles the notion of home. And yet, people can take these metal boxes and transform them into the most wonderful abodes. Modern, comfortable and cosy, Germaine’s container home is a perfect example of this. We hope you enjoy the tour! With Love, Bryce & Rasa
