Here in Portugal we were also victims of the French. Here in my city they burned the churches, destroyed to holy items, destroyed the places, robbed everything and did atrocities with the women, even with the nuns! They stolen our treasures now in the French museums.

The French had many attempts to invade Egypt but all failed, even their king Louis IX was captured as war prisoner in Egypt.. only Napoleon succeeded to control Egypt for 3 years. But it was three years of hell for the French army

The first revolution of Cairo, the second revolution of Cairo, omar makram's revolution in Alexandria, the resistance in Upper Egypt, the assassination of kleber
After napoleon left and left him charge
If he stayed any much longer he would have been assassinated instead and the napoleonic wars in Europe would have ended before it even started
They stayed for 2.5 years and left with shames on their back
The source of power for Egyptians was that most home in Egypt at that had weapons in it that made the French hate themselves for coming to Egypt
A point that was missing later on when the English invaded afterwards because mohamed ali took every gun in Egyptian home and gave to the army πŸ˜•
Imagine how much a single point can change that much in the case of an entire natio

Do you think he had piles at Waterloo and that's why he didn't do much manoeuvring with his army and just went straight at the British?
