Classical Music for Children - Esther’s Piano Explorers
41 videos • 84 views • by Esther Ling Contrary to popular belief, classical music can be very enjoyable when we help children “paint a picture” of the sounds we hear. In today’s modern popular music, we are blessed to be able to enjoy amazing music paired with words/lyrics (song) that appeal to our emotions, feelings and memories. Instrumental music still play a prevalent role in our lives today, we are just not as aware of it. In every movie or cartoon you watched as a child, you had already been exposed to classical works of the greatest composers known to mankind. Here’s a list I have put together for children to listen/watch as they can relate better to animations and still enjoy the sounds that relate to the movement of the animated pictures (storyline). It has all genres from Baroque, Classical, Romantic to the Impressionist/Modern era music. Please use at your discretion as some of it may contain frightening scenes for younger children. I use this in my lessons as I believe in giving children the opportunity to explore active listening to music, such a crucial part of music education which is not touched on as often in music lessons. Enjoy!
