17 videos • 722 views • by Debunk File 2020. The year that changed EVERYTHING. That has many meanings, but for us I viewed 2020 as a complete reset. Our old computer/retro gaming aesthetic completely vanished just like that. In its place came a new style, and a new intro, mixing synthwave, old VHS’s and anime to create a super sleazy and grimy style that instantly caught on with more people than ever before! To this day, our 2020 aesthetic remains possibly the most striking of them all, and it was the most uniform aesthetic too, as it even went into our thumbnails, which all used shades of washed out purples and blues. I personally love how “dirty” this style felt, which melded with the content we covered super well. I think it made this year distinct, even years later. We also reached heights that previously looked impossible. We FINALLY were able to start writing lengthy videos, and as a result our first ever large scale documentaries were made, and a few of these are still among my favorite videos we have ever created.
