The iconic picture of "the rake" was circulating the internet via chain email (similar to the smile dog image) and was often given a lengthy explanation asking if someone had seen it themselves. I remember this happening to a friend around 2008.
As for that utility commercial, it is 100% fake, they literally say it is. Its just a spooky fun commercial.

My girlfriend and I went camping for my birthday last year in a place that I have camped a hundred times throughout my life. In all the times I have been out there, I have NEVER had an experience that would even come close to being considered creepy before this trip. What we experienced one night was genuinely the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I'm an Afghan vet, with plenty of combat experience and even during those events, I never felt nearly as scared or helpless as I did that night in the forest. With everything that happened during that trip, never at any point did it even cross my mind to find my camera and record. I was MUCH more concerned about protecting my gf and keeping us safe. Everything from the voices and whispering to yelling in the woods, seeing it crawl passed on the edges of the firelight, a ton of missing time throughout an entire day, having what I can only describe as false thoughts/memories that ever happened, absolutely no wildlife the entire trip aside from a lone falcon that flew up and down the canyon a couple times a day. There was just so much that was so deeply wrong about that trip. We've sent hours discussing it at great length many times since and have spent hours looking for explanations online only to come up empty handed every time. The only thing that even remotely describes our experience would be a crawler if some kind.
I have spent a ron of time in the woods. Have always felt more at home in the middle of nowhere like that than at our own house. That all changed on that trip. I haven't been camping since. Even skipped my yearly tradtion of my birthday trip for the first time since my deployment in 2010.

100% sure I saw a Flesh Pedestrian
I live in Ireland and I don't think there's any Skin walkers here, but I've heard there's Fleshgaits and crawlers. I saw one when 2 friends, my brother and I were going for a walk across the nearby fields by my house, but we needed to cross through a small forest area to pass 1 of the fields. When we went the first time it was all normal and there was nothing wrong. It was when we were coming back I went in first and I was looking behind me while talking to my friend, it was when I turned around I saw its pale spindly body. When it saw me it started to scramble off quickly and I got a fright and I ran back to the field to tell the people I was with. After a few minutes we went through the area despite seeing it and I hadn't seen it again that day. The way it ran off was towards a load of thistles and thick foliage that no normal animal could get through, that's what made me thing it wasn't some sort of huge messed up fox or something. I might go back to this area and update this if I see anything

I have never heard of cryptids or even this specific one, "crawlers"... but I'll NEVER forget the first time I saw the google image pic you showed of a crawler.. My buddy from highschool, an earnest nice guy, who liked to smoke, told me a story of how he was driving in my friend joes development, it was nite time and he was not stoned( he specifically mentioned that)... it was about 10 pm, when he was cruising thru the neighborhood, he said a he saw what looked like a hairless creature that looked human like, run across the road.. it scuttered on all fours, had grey skin, it was a few hundred feet ahead of his car, it was caught for a flash in the headlights before it crossed the road. He mentioned being so terrified he went double the speed limit out of the residential neighborhood.. I googl imaged things like coyote with mange/ hairless deer etc to see if maybe he had mistaken a diseased animal, but he denied any resemblance.
We eventually came across the picture of a "crawler" and and ill never forget the look on his face. He got watery eyes. His reaction made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up
this kid was neither a liar or a good actor. There are rare times in life where you KNOW someone isn't lying about a situation, And this was one of those times. The way he told that story with just complete terror and astonishment. You could see it in his eyes.
He could have possibly been mistaken, and had seen an animal or psychotic old naked guy, but I know one thing for a fact, whatever he saw, he had actually SEEN. There was no lie in that kids face. Hope you're doing well nicky, Wish I could send you this video but ive since lost all contact with you after HS.

You mentioned the sounds they make, in PA near some woods at a public pool around 7pm just after sunset , I had gotten kinda lost in the woods then popped out at the pool and decided to chill for 30 mins or less till I hear this wild unison effect voice with about 3 layers of voices, an insane scream, growl, screech combo layered in perfect unison. I was about 25-30 feet away from the sound so I could really feel the force of it
Itâs the only sound Iâve ever heard that made my body feel like it was in panic and caused me to run on some primal âyouâre gonna die if you donât runâ.
Itâs annoying when you hear something so out there and no ones with you so youâre forever stuck being the only one who knows it was real, I hope I never experience a sound like that again

This cryptid (primarily the most commonly used photo) has always terrified me, despite my lack of belief of them actually being real. I was rather relieved when you stated they were mostly in the US... and then you added on that there are tons of confirmed sightings in Australia.
Thanks, I'm gonna go get a gun now and never leave the house again.

Iâve seen something like this before, multiple times in the late 90âs and early 00âs, and then again in the same area again recently. Then I found info of these âcrawlersâ and it matches these things almost perfectly.
Edit- I would gladly invite any one here to kick back a couple weeks in SC to see it for yourself, Iâm not going outside after that shit. Nope. Hell no. No. Theyâve made me almost crap myself a few times too many already. Someone elseâs turn.
