14 videos • 596 views • by Debunk File After the massive scale documentaries of 2021, I felt myself being absolutely drained of all energy. The Jack The Ripper video specifically gave me a nonstop headache for weeks, and it became clear that I was just too overworked. As heartbreaking as it was, we both felt the need to take a pause on those types of videos, as much as we loved making them. So, 2022 was all about us making “classic” style debunk videos, while using every single thing we’ve learned over the years along the way. In the early days, we used to write every single video together, but as the years went by, that stopped being the case. I had began missing that feeling, and wondering if our personality, and personal touch was being lost, even if we were making incredible documentaries. My major goal was to simply try and recapture that feeling, which involved much more collaboration between us both, and video ideas that were a lot more like the early days. I gave a nod to that aesthetically too, as I actually melded our current, synthwave style with our original retro video game/computer style, bringing back some of the images I used on day 1. I think that makes our 2022 videos some of our easiest, and most comfortable watches.
