I'm sorry I've been gone for a while and haven't been posting my songs. It's hard to say why and what happened, and I'm not going to get into much detail about it, but I just don't feel a lot anymore and it's hard to say it. Although I never directly say it, the song is called "Cheshire Cat" and it's about smiling and acting through your feelings and pain, only to realize that it hurts more to hold it in. I quote a lot from the book "Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass" (which I've read many times and is a great book), and many of the quotes come from the Cheshire Cat himself. The song is sad but yet hopeful, and I wished to portray it. I had these chords in mind the day I began song-writing, and have been saving them for this song especially, since I thought it fit it quite nicely, and I loved the way the song could be portrayed. It was really difficult writing this song, because there were so many things I wanted to say in this. The song was originally named "Masks", but I changed it to "Cheshire Cat" two years ago. I began writing two years ago, and that version included me laughing like a maniac, but the song just wasn't as good or emotional, so I completely scrapped it and began re-writing the entire song during this summer. I didn't finish it, and I intended to add in the laughs again, but I completely forgot and I winged singing this song a lot, making up words and completely free-styling the bridge part. It took me a million tries to get a video that was okay, and even then, this doesn't seem like enough. I will definitely post a final version when I can, and it will have a lot of laughs.
