When it comes this channel, Pitchkettle Acres Homestead, do you prefer my silent videos/shorts or videos/shorts that have talking in them?
Considering branching out a little bit to filming additional relaxing cinematic content at the beach, hiking, on the lake, etc.
Would you find these different sceneries interesting?
(The heavy majority of the content would stay as peaceful homestead/chicken content)
I think this is my slowest video yet. I'm so pleased with how this turned out. I hope it helps somebody.
Would you be interested in a video breaking down the economics of raising egg layers and heritage breed meat chickens?
Super weird occurrence yesterday: one of our one-year-old Barred Rock laying hens just laid down in the chicken run and died. She looked great, healthy, fantastic feathers, etc.
All of the other chickens in the flock book great, but this has me quite concerned. Any ideas or suggestions, please drop them in the comments below, so I can look into them. I've never experienced this before.
I thought it could be that she was egg bound, but normally that takes a few days to take a chicken out. Hers was a very sudden situation.
Here on our channel we share our assortment of chickens among other things. So far we have Barred Plymouth Rock, Ameraucana, English Orpington, Jersey Giant, and Silver Laced Wyandotte. We have big plans to add to the flock with a lot more very special and rare heritage breeds.
In addition to chickens, our family, here on Pitchkettle Acres Homestead, is focused on building a more self-sustainable lifestyle. We are self-employed small business owners, we homeschool our three childers, we garden for food, we do our best to shop local and we are LOVING this lifestyle. On the horizon, we see more animals, bigger gardens, deeper connections and relationships. All while documenting it here on our youtube channel.
