I recently had a conversation with some people who were explaining how terrible it was to be forced to play a character of the opposite sex in an RPG because they cannot relate to it. I personally have never cared about this. It is fiction and I am playing a role; can I really relate to the plight of a renegade duergar or Githyanki? No, but it also does not matter because I am playing a role and not myself, the same applies to female characters I play but apparently for some people it is a really, really big deal to be able to self-insert into their characters, which I never do and cannot relate to. After all, why would I want to play an average middle aged nobody in a hero's tale? So the question is how is it for you?

Romances in RPGs
After I had put out my video on Avowed companions. I was genuinely surprised to discover that many people were extremely disappointed by the fact that you will not be able to romance your companions. Although I personally don't mind romance in RPGs, romance is also not a top priority for me. So how do you see it? Is romance an essential component of RPGs for you? Or is it optional? Or is it something else? Do let me know in the poll results.
