Today marks the second anniversary of the October 7th massacres perpetrated by Hamas in Israel.
On this day, we are reminded that just three years after liberation from the Nazi death camps, the State of Israel was founded — not out of conquest, but out of survival.
Soon after its creation, the New York Times reported on May 16th, 1948, that more than 850,000 Jews were being forced out of Muslim lands, expelled solely for being Jewish. Nearly all of them found refuge in the newly established State of Israel.
Today, there are no Jews left in Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and other Muslim-majority countries.
We are also reminded that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem collaborated with Hitler’s regime during World War II in the effort to exterminate the Jews — and later led Arab opposition to the Jewish homeland, a hostility that persisted long after his death.
Two years ago today, the world once again witnessed an attempt to destroy the only Jewish state in the Middle East — the last refuge of a people exiled countless times before.
But this event was not only a tragedy for Israel; it became a turning point for the West.
Since then, we’ve seen:
Mass migration accelerate,
Western values and traditions undermined,
Universities turn into ideological indoctrination centres,
The UN and ICJ weaponised, and
Western governments trade away morality and national identity to appease hostile, non-Western ideologies.
October 7th changed the future — not only for Israel, but for the entire Western world.
And that future remains deeply concerning.

It is with deep sadness that we confirm the passing of Charlie Kirk, aged 31.
Charlie was on a university campus in Utah, engaged in a debate on mass shootings, when the tragic incident occurred. Early video clips revealed a disturbing and graphic scene. While an initial suspect was detained, it was later confirmed that this was a case of mistaken identity, and the real perpetrator remains at large.
For a time, there was hope that Charlie was receiving treatment and might recover. Sadly, President Donald Trump has confirmed that he has passed away.
As expected, reactions have been polarised. Many on the left have disgracefully celebrated the tragedy, while the right remains baffled by ongoing claims that they are the ones perpetuating violence—despite the reality of who so often carries it out.
Charlie was a powerful voice of reason, silenced for engaging in respectful debate with those who held opposing views. He will be profoundly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family on the loss of a husband and father.
Zichrono Livracha — may his memory be a blessing.

This past month has been a tough one health-wise for me (bronchitis and a few other things), so I truly hope yours has been much better! I honestly can’t wait for summer to arrive so there’s less sickness going around.

Happy International Workers' Day.
I'm reminded that International Workers' Day is one of the most important holidays in communist countries such as China, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, and the former Soviet Union countries, leading some to say is a Socialist Holiday.

We believe that despite all it's problems South Africa remains the best country in the world to live in. However, that does not mean that we bury our heads and ignore what happens in our land. That is why we review the Daily News for you, so that you don't have to.
Our intention is to help South Africans be informed, stay in their country of birth, build up a future for themselves and thrive with their families.
