This is special message from Drab City band.
Since our record came out (in the middle of the pandemic) we have recorded 4 music videos just between the two of us, zero expenses with just what we had. We were lucky enough to reach all you good folks out there, because the tide of support and words of encouragement we received has really carried us through this challenging time.
There is no way around mentioning how badly the pandemic has affected us privately and as musicians.
But while the world is going down in flames, we turn towards each other, forever changed. Many people started reaching out to us wishing us well and looking to support us. Some of you even sent us anonymous donations expecting nothing in return.
We all know the industry and resources that once sustained musicians financially are disappearing or long gone. If it's to be kept alive at all, it will be in underground scenes like ours, with the direct support of the people who love it. Our community encouraged us to keep going when we felt defeated, because they need us to sing what they can only shout.
We explain the following much better in the link below, but to make it short - we finally found the courage to start a GoFundMe to help a project come alive that has been dear to our hearts for a long time.
The GoFundMe will help the collaboration with an amazing artist from London to make a Drab City short film. It will be like an animated walk through Drab City, narrated by her beautiful animation along with brand new Drab City music.
The money raised on this platform will help us produce the entire short film, pay for tools, materials, workspace and helping hands.
If this fundraiser works out, we will start working on this project from January until March 2020, which is when the film will come out.
We have never done this before and have no idea what will come out of this. But some say the day we stop dreaming is the day we die.

Today five years ago is the day Chris was sitting on my doorstep, grinning at me in the dark. We walked to a gas station and got ourselves a flask of vodka and water. We sat in the backyard of an apartment building, on two majestic rocks which were planted between trash bins and broken furniture. Today five years ago is when the universe imploded in our hearts, and we never spent a day without each other since then.
Half a decade later we are marking this day with the release of our debut album “Good Songs For Bad People” as Drab City
What are “bad people”? Someone who was wronged long before they knew of your existence? Someone with a bleeding heart, expressing despair, in the best way they can?
Our hearts are bleeding, and Good songs for bad people is us expressing our despair, in the best way we can. Trying to sing through our tied throats.
