Oribis is on fire! đ„ Weâre thrilled to share that between the original upload and our captioned version, weâre closing in on 100k views! The love and support youâve shown us is beyond incredible, and we couldnât be more grateful. đ
âš Letâs talk about our funding journey:
When we first launched, we planned to fund through Kickstarterâbut we learned the hard way that funding cycles in Ireland and Europe didnât line up with our timing. There are only certain times in the year when the bigshots open their wallets for animation and we came in hot too early, kind of like a Christmas dinner in July! đ
BUT this ended up being a blessing in disguise! With so many views and positive feedback already rolling in ahead of the 2025 funding deadlines, weâve gained a huge head start in terms of what we can show the broadcasters in our presentations over other series seeking funding. We started out with a handful of meetings, and these multiplied into a lot more meetings with a lot more people - everything's coming up Oribis!
đŹ Hereâs where things stand now:
âš Weâre in exciting talks with several broadcasters and studios, and thereâs even a chance Oribis might become a video game! đź Imagine stepping into the world of Oribis yourselfâwhat genre do you think would suit it best? RPG? Visual novel? Roguelike? A platformer? Let us know your dream game in the comments!
Personally, I'd love to see it on a bunch of platforms like Sword Art Online.
âš Weâve also applied for multiple initiatives with Screen Ireland (our national film board) for grants. These help indie studios get their projects off the ground and give all the employees living wages. Fingers crossedâweâre feeling hopeful for good news soon! đ€

One unexpected and incredible side effect of TADSâ popularity? Renewed interest in animation history. Its nods to Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure (1977) brought attention back to this nearly forgotten gem through âȘ@raggedyannrevivaleffort⏠now beautifully preserved thanks to Tyler Burg Garrett 's (on X) careful restoration work. đâ€ïž

Some of the viewers were having issue with sync and framerate, and also captions- a new version of the video is coming with in-built captions on Monday 30th Sept at 5pm Local (Irish) time. Sadly we can't change the audio on our original upload but the new version will have these issues fixed.
