We’ve got a missing grease plug, and this will not end well.
Without it, dirt and debris will mix with the grease inside your gear case, creating a gritty mess that accelerates wear on your gears and will eventually cause your trimmer head to wear out long before its time.
Take a minute to check on your straight shaft trimmer/brushcutter/weedeater next time you go to fire it up – if you notice your grease plug is AWOL, give us a call!

To help your lawn thrive as we’re approaching fall! 🍂
Aerate Your Lawn: Relieve soil compaction and improve air and water flow. We have aerators available for rent so you can easily check this off your to-do list!
Fertilize: Apply slow-release fertilizer as recommended.
Overseed: Fill in bare patches and promote a thick, healthy lawn.
Water: Keep soil moist for seed germination.
Mow: Avoid mowing new grass until it’s 3 inches tall.
Dethatch: If your lawn has a thatch layer thicker than ½ inch, consider dethatching before overseeding. (We’ve got dethatchers at Carl’s that are available to rent or purchase, too!)
Clean Up Leaves: Rake regularly to prevent mold and keep your lawn healthy.

Fuel, fuel, fuel…
One of the easiest ways to help protect your investment and your wallet is to fuel properly.
This means:
Always use fresh, high-octane, ethanol-free gasoline or add a fuel stabilizer.
If you have a 2-stroke engine, mix the fuel with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil, following the manufacturer’s recommended ratio.
This will go a long way towards helping keep your engine running smoothly and extending the life of your equipment!
