Hi friends! You may have noticed there was no video last Monday, and unfortunately there will also not be a video this Monday either. 🫶
I do have some sad news, you'll be seeing me a bit less here on YouTube for the foreseeable future. I've been doing YouTube for quite a long time now and it's my absolute favorite thing in the world getting to have the privilege to make videos and connect with you all. The reality, however, is that each video takes so much time to produce. From filming, editing and even reading the books for you guys, it's a big time commitment. Managing this YouTube channel on top of working a full time job and running my own business has started to take a toll on my mental health. I kept pushing through my burnout to make videos for you guys because I truly am so passionate about YouTube, and feel so lucky that you all take time out of your day to spend a chunk with me.
Recently, some opportunities ended up coming my way, and that ended up making the decision to cut back on videos for me. As many of you know, I'm an artist on the side and run Oakleaf Arrow Studios. I've had an influx of people reach out wanting to commission me and I've decided to prioritize my business at this time. I recently released a bookmark collection on my shop and I'm in the process of designing tote bags, and these things have been bringing me so much joy! I can only spread myself so thin, so something had to go. I'm certainly not quitting YouTube, I'm just taking more time off in between videos. They'll still be posted on Mondays, I just don't know how often! (so as the YouTubers say, 'ring that notification bell' 😅)
Thank you to everyone for watching my videos, commenting and just connecting through this channel about our shared love of books. I'll be off touching grass & drawing trees, but I do post occasionally on my Instagram (@cassandra.lynn.reads) so feel free to follow me there and reach out about your current reads! Katie and I had quite a few discussions when it came to Wyverns & Words, we both were feeling a bit burnt out and didn't want to keep at it if it wasn't bringing us as much joy as before. With all that said, we're not finishing off the Daevabad trilogy and instead we're going to be ending W&W with Mistborn! We both are incredibly excited about re visiting this series and getting to discuss it with you all. As before, liveshow date announcements will be made monthly as soon as possible, so keep an eye out for those posts.
It's been a lovely 2 years running this book club together with @katieisreading and we're sad that the liveshows are coming to an end. We will still continue to run the book club via Discord for you all can continue to have a place filled with other bookish friends. Stay tuned for that announcement come September, but in the meantime, happy reading!
