Tisha b'Av Is Coming: It's Really Time To Build!
Tisha b'Av (the 9th of Av), the day of the destruction of the first and second Holy Temples is drawing near. For nearly 2,000 years Tisha b'Av has been a day of mourning. The time has come to leave the mourning behind and begin in earnest to build the third and eternal Holy Temple! Together we can do it!

The Temple Institute expresses its profound gratitude to the IDF soldiers who have given their lives that we may live free in our land.

Betzalel Makes the Ark of the Covenant!
The construction of the desert Tabernacle and its sacred vessels reaches a fever pitch in this week's Torah reading Vayakhel-Pekudei, with the co9nsruction of the Ark of the Covenant by master craftsman Betzalel, imbued by HaShem "with wisdom of the heart," (Exodus 35:35), understanding and knowledge!

This week we are reading parashat Vayakhel-Pekudei (a double portion, Exodus 35:1 - 40:38), in which the building of the desert Tabernacle gets underway in high gear. The first instruction shared by Moshe, after repeating the prohibition of working on Shabbat (including working on the Tabernacle is:
"Take from yourselves an offering for HaShem; every generous hearted person shall bring it, namely HaShem's offering: gold, silver, and copper; and blue, purple, and crimson wool; and linen and goat hair; and ram skins dyed red, tachash skins, and acacia wood." (Exodus 35:5-7)
