More dogs found in Dog Meat Trade!

Volunteers in Dazhou contacted our founder Du Yufeng when they found a farm where dogs were being kept.
While the volunteers waited for the local Department of Agriculture
to arrive, they were obstructed as the driver and his helpers loaded cages full of dogs on to a truck.
As the officials arrived, the driver fled the scene in the truck full of dogs. The remaining 50 dogs that the dealer didnt have time to load on to the truck will be handed over to us.
These extra 50 dogs from Dazhou, like the dogs from Guang'an, will need checkups, vaccinations,flea and tick treatments and worming.
We hate to keep asking but we need help to help them.
If you can spare the cost of a cup of coffee or newspaper we will greatly appreciate it π

Do you remember our Golden Retrievers who flew to America a few weeks ago?
Here are 3 of them, enjoying their new home abroad! On the left is Nian Zong (now Graham). He was a little possessive of things that he would carry around in his mouth. He had a bad start in life: we think he escaped slaughter (see how we rescued him here: boaianimalcentre.org/our-work/category/slaughter-survivor) but now his insecurities are behind him.
Huang Gua (now Gabby, top right) and Lunar (now Galloway, top left) are Golden mixes. They wouldn't have been given this chance in China (because they aren't pure Goldens) so Golden Bond Rescue opened their arms out to them both.
With your donations and the help of our partner Asian Dogs Rescue Allies, Golden Bond Rescue in Oregon kindly took these 3 and all of our Goldens who flew there.

Many of you have contacted us to ask why you haven't been able to donate to us.
We, among other shelters, have had problems with paypal. We are now waiting for documents and other paperwork to be accepted to enable us to use a different donation platform but while we wait we still need your help to care for the 1600 dogs and cats at our shelter and there are still animals who need saving from abandonment, abuse, neglect and slaughter so we have made a temporary donation page.

June 21st:
The start of a 'festival' in the city of Yulin in Guangxi where thousands of dogs and cats- stolen pets will be brutally killed then eaten.
Our founder Du Yufeng has been to Yulin many times and witnessed the killings. She has also protested on every visit and had meetings with the leaders of Yulin to urge them to cancel the festival that attracts visitors from around China and even from abroad.
On Du's visits she has rescued many dogs and cats from Yulin. You can read about her visits since 2012 on our dedicated website blog:

It was released in 2015 to show Chinese audiences how hard the activists have to fight against the dog traders and eaters. Du has been harrassed, threatened and even assaulted by them on her visits there. We have added English subtitles.
Thank you for supporting us and others like us to end the Dog and Cat Meat Trade by signing petitions and protesting in your own countries. One day we will all succeed in banning it and implementing animal protection laws in China π€but for now we'll keep fightingπΎ

UPDATE~
Following the taking of our dogs by Guangyuan's Chengguan, our founder Du Yufeng has been admitted to hospital. She is being told to rest and is receiving fluids but she and volunteers and Guangyuan's animal lovers are calling on the suspension of Chengguan branch captain Zhang Qian along with an apology and compensation to pay medical and kennel fees but we know that won't happen any time soon, if at all so we still desperately need your help.
We later found out that they had also turned off the electricity, water and gas at the main shelter putting not only the animals lives at risk but making the lives of the workers who live at that shelter that much harder.
The volunteers and animal lovers have been negotiating to free the dogs at the city pound and hopefully by tomorrow we may know more.

Bo Ai Animal Protection Centre of Guangyuan, situated in Sichuan, China, was founded in 2008 by Du Yufeng after the Great Sichuan Earthquake.
After the earthquake the local government wanted to kill the stray dogs to prevent the spread of disease but Du approached the government, telling them that she would take in the dogs. They agreed. Bo Ai (meaning Universal Love) Centre was born.
Du has been to Yulin and has closed down dog slaughterhouses as well as restaurants and market stalls selling dog meat.
Even before Bo Ai Centre was opened, Du Yufeng was rescuing animals. She credits her father, who raised her and her 5 siblings alone after their mother died, for her love of animals:
"When I was small, Dad bought us rabbits, sheep, ducks, pigeons, cats and dogs. A representative of each species was entrusted to each of us to care for".
