Merry Christmas Friends,
thanks for your friendship and being part of the MCH Community
I appreciate you
Cheers Elissa 🐣💕
Hey Friends, it is a good time to go through your Larder Pantry or Root Cellar again, to organise and check on your produce, canned food and other food goods. This will help to keep on track of your food storage so there is no waste, you'll make room for more produce coming out of the garden and it helps when deciding what you will need to grow. I know the sound is not great but there is good information to help you with your food storage. I will have a new video coming out next week, much love Elissa.
Hello Friends, if you still have Pumpkins /Winter Squash on the shelf, then you may consider pressure canning it for longer storage. I still have 1 left that I harvested 11 months ago and it’s still good, but I had better do something with it before it goes rotten. If all continues to go well in the garden, I will be harvesting more in the upcoming months.
If you’ve got an abundance of late Summer herbs in the garden right now or you’re planing for your upcoming Summer garden, remember it’s easy to grow and preserve herbs.
So get outside and harvest your herbs or get your herb seeds purchased so you can grow and preserve them.

I’ve just made a batch of my delicious Energy Bars and I thought you may like to make them too.
They are easy to make and are a perfect homemade snack for on the go, school lunches or to share with guests who drop in.
The Pantry Larder is always evolving in our Kitchen, over the seasons and over the years.

Welcome to Moat Cottage, I'm Elissa Jayne,
I started my homesteading journey last century, on large acreage in the Strathbogie Ranges, with fully established orchards, a huge veggie plot, overlooking a gorgeous creek, surrounded by hills. It was a dream location to learn & live.
I then moved to the modest Moat Cottage, 1/6th of an acre including the structures.
Refusing to give up the homesteaders lifestyle, I discovered that so much can be achieved on a backyard homestead & I encourage you to learn & expand your skills and experience.
GROW organic vegetables, fruit & herbs.
Stock and organize the LARDER PANTRY shelves.
PRESERVE THE HARVEST by pressure canning, water bath canning, dehydrating, fermenting, pickling & freezing as well as COOKING in the homestead kitchen.
Learn how to make NATURAL HERBAL REMEDIES & start your own Apothecary cupboard.
There is also plenty of backyard MUSCOVY DUCKS & CHICKENS information too.
