The MIT Portugal Program is an international collaboration seeking to demonstrate that an investment in science, technology and higher education can have a positive, lasting impact on the economy by addressing key societal issues through quality education and research in the emerging field of engineering systems.
Funded through Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, FCT, the MPP2030 focuses on fostering research between MIT and Portuguese universities, research institutes, laboratories, companies, and other entities targeting the areas of: Climate Science & Climate Change; Earth Systems: Oceans to Near Space; Digital Transformation in Manufacturing and Sustainable Cities as key areas for economic development and societal impact. In all these areas, there’s an anchor of data science-intensive approaches and methodologies.
