Attention everyone, I have great news to share.
I finally reached 500 subscribers!
I'm so happy that I could finally reach this milestone with the help of my good friend, Softie. Thank you all so much for making this happen. I'm literally crying as I type this out because I never thought I'd get this far. Let me tell you my origin story.
I uploaded my first video on February 18th 2020. My dad, who I loved dearly, had died on the Thanksgiving of the previous year and my psychologist encouraged me to find ways to process my grief properly. I decided to turn to posting YouTube videos just to cope with my dad's death.
My first upload was a shitty Bat Boys chat sim I made. I just wanted to troll people for the hell of it. I then posted a lowered down pitch of the last few seconds of Silva Hound's song, Addict, but I thought I could go further. I wanted to do more with my channel because I started liking what I did.
I then moved on to posting acapella covers and shitty comic dubs which made me love what I do. I decided to ditch the comic dubs for a bit and work on my covers. Granted, my voice sounded shitty in my earlier covers but it improved the more I practiced. It was thrilling to be the one uploading and sharing my content. It really made me happy and I wanted to keep doing it.
My career really took off when I started posting my covers on Hazbin Hotel Amino, since people from there subscribed to me on here. I started trying to improve on my craft and the more I got better, the more popular I got. Everyone on Hazbin Hotel Amino knows me as Becky, that one girl who sings. The more posts I made on that amino, the more attention I got. I gave my Helluva Boss oc, Becky, my singing voice. I made her a part of me. Hell I even act like her in some ways.
I started uploading more after my beloved grandfather died last year on February 20th at the age of 103. I was at a really low point in my life and I resorted to singing to distract myself from the heartache I was feeling. I used my voice as a coping mechanism and it really helped me heal better than I thought it would.
Fast forward to my recent covers. A few months ago, I listened to Emotions by Mariah Carey (it's my favorite song) and I heard the whistle register being used. I could use my whistle register when I was a kid but I lost that ability as I got older. I started teaching myself how to use the whistle register and I used it for the first time on my Carousel cover. Things just went up for me from that moment. I worked on my whistle register and managed to pull off singing Emotions, the most dangerous song for a singer, without damaging my vocal cords. I started singing songs that were dangerous for my voice and pulled them off with little to no trouble at all. I haven't stopped taking risks since.
And it's thanks to my risk taking personality that I've come this far. I've dedicated a full 3 years of my life to uploading content for you guys. I was 23 when I started out and now I'm 26. This was an amazing learning experience and it really helped me to grow as a person. I'm eternally grateful for your love and support. Really, it means a lot to me.
To commemorate this milestone, I'm uploading my unreleased covers so y'all better stay tuned! It's gonna be a blast!
