So hereās the thing: every now and then, I convince myself I can do traditional art. I grab a sketchbook, some pens, and dive in... only to immediately regret every decision Iāve ever made. š Itās wild how something as simple as no āundoā button can throw me off completely. Safe to say, I went running back to my Cintiq faster than you can say Ctrl+Z.š
This is my second comic story, and Iām super excited to share it with you all! The love you gave my first one was incredible, and I really hope this one makes you laugh just as much.
Also, fun fact: I created this using my upcoming LP Watercolor Brushes (stay tuned, theyāre on the way!), and honestly, Iām loving how theyāve brought this story to life.ššØ

Ever been standing in the grocery aisle, wondering why youāre not home drawing? Yeah, same. Thatās exactly what inspired the first panel of my comic strip!
Hereās how I brought this panel to life:
1ļøā£ Rough Sketch: Scribbles on the screen that barely look like a grocery store but hold the idea.
2ļøā£ Detailed Sketch: Tightening it upāfinally starting to resemble me and not a potato.
3ļøā£ Inking: Crisp lines to give everything structure.
4ļøā£ Coloring: I used my NEW Upcoming watercolor-inspired brushes to give it that soft, handmade vibe.
5ļøā£ Adding Dialogue
And just like that, the first panel was done! š Itās a peek into the artistās eternal struggleāchoosing between lifeās responsibilities and the pull of creativity.

So, this is the last panel from my very first comic stripāa super real moment between my wife and me. The story goes: Iāve spent the whole day running errands, thinking, "Man, I canāt wait to draw when I get home!"
And then, this happens...
Classic artist struggle, right? Anyway, hereās how I made this panel:

Hey everybody!š
So, quite a different kind of content from my usual, but Iāve been wanting to explore a comic type of thing in my art for a loooong time now, and hereās why:
1ļøā£ AI āArtā has heavily changed my perspective on my art. For the longest time I have been happy with just creating āprettyā paintings. But with tools like Midjourney I have lost a lot of my motivation to create more āprettyā paintings, and I have been thinking of ways to create art thatās more personal and meaningful rather than just aesthetically pleasing.šØ
2ļøā£ I have always been fascinated with storytelling. But every time that I have tried it I have been overwhelmed by the amount of skill that it takes to write something decent (props to you writing people). Hopefully piggybacking on my drawing will allow me to do something that is not terrible.
3ļøā£ A bunch of changes have happened in my life in the past couple of yearsā¦ And sometimes I feel I get these āahaā moments that just evaporate. I want to try and use my art a bit more like a personal journal, a bunch of self-reminders so that I stop bumping against the same problems again and againā¦ And hey, if anyone else relates to anything that I put out, all the betterā¦
Anyway, Iām not saying that Iām gonna just do this every day, I donāt even know if Iām gonna try to do something like this again, Iām just trying something new and seeing how it feels. I hope you enjoy it, and let me know if you would like to see more of this kind of stuff. šØšļøšØāšØ

Hereās a step-by-step look at my process drawing Young Goku from Dragon Ball Z! This oneās close to my heartāDBZ was a huge part of my childhood, so getting Goku just right was a fun challenge.

Just wrapped up this Young Conan piece, and let me tell youāthis dude is all muscle and attitude. No throne, no crown, just a whole lot of "donāt mess with me" energy. šŖš”ļø
Kept it gritty with my LP Inking Brush Pack: started with a rough sketch (because Conanās not about perfect lines), refined it a bit, laid down some solid line art (forgot to save the image for that stageš
), and went heavy on the shadows to amp up that savage vibe. Threw in some rough textures at the end to really bring out his untamed, wild side.
