Brothers. Today Monke did 1000 push-ups. MONKE STRONG. MONKE WARRIOR. I want to share some good information with you. My analytics shows that 99% of viewers of this channel are men from 18 to 34, therefore I thought it might be interesting for some men here. Let me share my journey with you, maybe you will join me. I don't know how many people will read this, but if it will help at least 1 person I am happy. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask, I'll help with what I know. But now I am going to sleep, need some regeneration, I'll answer later.
Rules when I do push-ups: full maximum range of motion that body allows and fully controlled technique: chest muscles touching the ground in the lowest position while keeping the core muscles tense (abs and lower back), spine totally straight and controlled, the upper body is straight (no hunching) with slight scapula protracting (keeping the spine straight) in the most top position included (for maximum range), elbows tucked, legs straight and controlled, both movements up and down take around 4 seconds (2 seconds each), with the slight pause in the most nether position, to fully control the technique and exclude any moment of inertia.
I do 100 push-ups every day for many months at this point, so I decided to do this. I also do 100 squats, 100 crunches (abs), 100 lower back extensions, every day. All with controlled techniques I learned from great calisthenics channels. My push-ups are like here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou05L..., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggb2r...), I shuffle Normal, Wide, Diamond, and slow the speed of both negative and pushing movement. Simple but effective setup.
1000 push-ups were more as the training in the aspect of will, rather than only physical endurance, because your body starts to feel it doesn't want to go after first 100, while doing push-ups with the clean controlled technique I described. I knew that it will be a long game, and it was indeed a marathon.
I did 10x100 sets. Why only 10 per set? Because to do 1000 with the perfect technique you need all the control you can have.
In the first hour and a half, I only completed 300: the first 100 was easy, 20 minutes, 200 was ~30 minutes, 300 was ~40 minutes. Muscles failed (literally lost control, falling on the ground) at the 15th and 23rd sets. Take a little rest (5 seconds breath rest) and go again. The main goal is a clean technique. I've adopted to this: you can feel when exactly muscles will fail, therefore, if you think they will fail at the 9th push-up, take a rest after the 8th, that lasts literally the amount of time that you need to breathe in and out (around 5 seconds) in the top position and continue. This was the point which you need to push through, tell your body that it doesn't have any other choice but to do what you tell it to do, and, rest a little more (~1-3 minutes).
After 300 you will experience kind of a "second breath", and feel your muscles much more, from the inside.
After 500 it became physically painful in joints. Well, no pain no gain. Half of the path is finished. At this point I started to take short breaks mid-sets (5 seconds), doing 6-4 or 5-3-2 for the full set of 10.
At 700 precisely I had muscle control loss again. A little more rest. With every hundred it takes more time.
At 820 shoulders started to scream from pain. Every first time in each set is very painful, but, remaining are not that bad. Found possibility to reduce the pain by intensively contracting the muscles (shoulders, pectorals, abs, back) before the start.
At 850 I started to do the sets of 5. It's only 150 left (I was repeating this to myself).
At 870 I started to very forcibly massage the shoulders and it actually helped, as a little buff to recovery between the sets.
It's 900. The Last Stand starts now. The rest between sets is around 5-9 minutes.
950.
990.
1000.
In total, I've done 1100+, because if I don't like how I did some movement, I do additional: let's say I didn't like 2 out of 10 push-ups because I think that technique wasn't controlled enough, or I did not touch the floor with the pectoral muscles, I'll do 12, but will count as 10.
The total time of 1000 was ~10 hours. Even taking the planning fallacy into consideration, I estimated that it should be 6-8 hours at most, but, last hundreds took their toll. The first 100 was less than 20 minutes, last 5 sets were more than an hour each, each longer than the previous. Keep in mind that I do 100 push-ups for months every day, and now the goal was to keep the proper technique through the whole 1000, and I have indeed kept the full range of motion technique through the whole 1000, and this is why it took so long.
Before anybody might ask, I am fully natural and take no enhancers. And eat mostly rice. Holy hell, I live like a Shaolin monk.
My muscles are still pulsing, joints of shoulders are screaming, and it feels great to know that I did push through. The last hundred was insane. You understand that it is a good kind of pain, which leads to evolution, but your body is screaming, muscles refuse to work. Strengthen your will and do. Do it for yourself.
Brothers, remember the words of Socrates:
"It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."
Embrace the strength, brothers.
Never too late. Do it now. Never give up. No excuses.
Monke strong. You are strong. Remember this.

Greetings, dear Gentlemon(ke) and Gentle ladies. I'll keep it short. Thank you for 10K subscribers, thank you for your support, your comments and watching my videos. These are the things that kept me going all this time, since, even at 10K and more than 200K hours of Watch time, this channel is still not monetized. I've spent all my free time last 2 month on grinding content for this channel. For free. I am tired. I will keep uploading content still, but it might be not as many, at least for the moment. I want to relax. Play Dark Souls again, maybe, in my free personal time. I think, you understand how devastating it can be, when there is no reward after hundreds of hours of time spent. But, to end this on a positive note, again, thank you very much, my dear friends, for your support. I just need to have some time, personal time. See you, friend. Monke strong. You are strong. Remember this.
