There's going to be a small break in the One Piece shorts. A full compilation of the first 100 OP shorts is going up on Sunday, then there's going to be about a month where I post reviews of Final Fantasy summon character designs (channel members can already see some of them), and then we'll get started on the Alabasta Saga chapter reviews :)
Did a small retouching job for the thumbnail for the chapter 100 video - mostly just getting rid of the sound effects and speech bubbles. Nothing fancy, but I'm pleased that it looks reasonably convincing in the final result, at least at a youtube thumbnail size.
You'll have to look at them full size to see, YouTube does weird resizing to community image posts.
Supergiant is ramping up to put Hades 2 in early access, and while I simply will not have time to play the game before it comes out as a full release, I CAN take a look at the art and character design of the game that's been shown off so far and do some reactions and quick analysis. So there's this obscure indie folk singer-songwriter who put out a couple of albums during the height of the pandemic, and one of the songs off her first album has kept sticking with me since the first time I heard it. I decided to actually research the historical person the song is about, and it led me into some really interesting thorny questions about how we remember "great" people and who gets to have a legacy. 1. The design evolution of Final Fantasy's recurring characters over time (summons like Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, and enemies like Bahamut, Ultima Weapon, etc)
2. I know next to nothing about Genshin Impact/Honkai Star Rail/Zenless Zone Zero. How much of a character can I figure out solely from looking at their designs? No reading the wiki, no looking up anything, just pictures. Y'all get to roast me in the comments for what I get wrong.
