As you look around the place you notice the small stores that line the side of the enormous airport sized hall. Large tall windows are lined up all across one side of the building showing the futuristic city inside the dome. You walk in one of the food stores. Your very hungry and tired.
Some people start to look at you, as you walk around in somewhat dirty cloths. Your hair is a little messy and your face has dirt on it. You look bad. For now, they dismiss you as one of the survivors from a terrible fusion plant disaster. How do you know this? Because it's all over the freaking news. Screens everywhere are covering the story!

You can hear people whispering about you. It's a group of elderly ladies.

A light bulb goes off in your head. You walk up to the people talking about you and ask...

Before you could finish, the small crowed of elderly ladies rush to your aid.
"" You poor thing! Don't you worry! Are you hungry? Do you need some credits?
After about 30 minutes of being overwhelmed with love and attention you walk out of the store with card full or credits and bags of food and drink. They even offer you a ride to anywhere you need to go.
You ask them if there is a hotel around here. They ask you if you mean a cycaftel? A what? Cycaftel? One of the elderly ladies says that she remembers when her grandmother would talk about hotels. And that they haven't been called that in centuries.
Centuries .... ? Wait wait wait ... I know this is going to sound strange but, what year is it?
The ladies look at you puzzled. "It's 2219. Are you feeling alright hun?""
You stop for a second and then reassure them with a smile. "Ya I might just be really tired."
They ladies smile, " That's ok hun, we'll get you to a Cycaftel so you can rest up."
As you walk out of the exit, you are greeted by a very clean looking and shinny city. And yes, the cars are flying. They all have the same type of rings sitting on top of them, only smaller. All of you get into a type of taxi with no driver. One of the ladies says an address and just like that, you start flying through the buildings in a type of skyway with other cars. You land at your destination. As you leave the taxi all the elderly ladies wave at you and wish you good luck! You wave good by as they fly away.
You turn around with credits in your pockets and food in your hands.
You don't know how you'll make it, but damn it all to hell, YOUR GOING TO FIGURE IT OUT. NO MATTER WHAT!
With your head held high, you walk into the "Cycaftel" and begin your new life.

You look around to see if anyone is following you, then walk off toward the transport. It doesn't look like any transport you've ever seen. The body of the plane is white with red strips along the side. No tail or wings or engines for that matter. The craft has wheels for landing gears so at least that looks normal. But a large ring like structure sits flat on top of the craft, attached by two smooth looking pylons. As you get closer to the craft, the ring on top of it ... is humming.
You get in line covering yourself in the warm blanket the soldiers gave you. Well, not you, but rather the person they thought you where. A lady is standing at the transport hatch yelling out orders.
"ONE AT A TIME. STAY IN LINE"
As you slow walk in line, you turn your head back. A good ways away, a few soldiers look like their frantically looking for something. One of the soldiers makes small gestures with his hands as if he is explaining the height and looks of a person. As they turn around in your direction you look away quickly.
"Please ... don't see me." As you get to the hatch door the lady asks you ...
"U.I.N. please ..."
You look at her ... with confusion on your face.
"U.I.N. Please!"
You unwrap yourself from the warm blanket as you look down, as if you're looking for the UIN thing. She takes a device in her hands and with a "tis" sound of annoyance scans your left chest. A "BEEP" is heard. She then looks at her device and says,
"Doctor huh."
You just stare at her.
"Down the walkway to the left. Everyone keep moving! U.I.N. NOW! QUICKLY!"
You make your way down the walkway as another crew member sits you down on a chair next to a window. You watch as other people sit down and pull on a lever above them. As not to be suspicious, you mimic their movements. You pull the lever and feel the chair conform to your body. You can still move your legs and arms freely but your hips and torso are locked in. It's kinda cozy.
You feel something on the left side of your chest. It's a metal like badge. It says Doctor H.Bowmen, Bio Research Division. "Oh ... that's a what she wanted." Funny how I didn't see it there before.
The person next to you, looks at you. She has tears in her eyes. "M9 right?" You just nod slightly. The person seems to be wearing the same thing as you. "You ever feel sorry for those poor bastards in the pods?." She says. You just look at her and make a face that seems like your agreeing with them.
"To be reactivated, only to be used and thrown away because you technically where dead anyway. I don't know about you but fu*k this job." She then leans back and closes her eyes.
Just then you hear the lady at the hatchway suddenly yell out,
THAT'S IT! NO MORE! EVERYONE MAKE A LINE OVER AT THE NEXT SHUTTLE!
She then closes the hatch and locks it. You hear banging on the hatch door like someone wanting to get in. Suddenly the humming that you heard earlier gets louder as something starts to spool up. You feel a little tingling in your skin then the feeling of the craft lifting off the ground. As you look out of a window you can see people getting out the way. The few soldiers from earlier are in the crowd. Still looking and pointing around.
You get higher and higher until the whole base is visible from the sky. As you look across the horizon, nothing but snow. No cities, no roads, just snow. You start to feel the craft accelerating. The strange ring that sat flat on top of the craft now starts to change position, as it rotates facing forward around the craft.
The craft is tilted at almost a 45 degree angle as the humming becomes noticeably louder. In less then a few minutes, the white cloudy sky becomes clear. The blue tint starts to get darker, and darker. The humming sound fades away. The sky turns black, but the sun is obviously still out. It's then that it hits you...
I'm .............. in space............
The flight takes about 30 mins or so, but all you can see, is snow on the earths surface. It's like the world froze. As you come back down to earth, there's no flames or heat. Just like landing at an airport. The ring returns to it's original position and the craft lands vertically in some kind of snow dome city. The craft then rolls into a lit bay with other crafts that look similar.
"OK, ONE AT A TIME. PROCEED TO OFF LOADING. IF YOU HAVE BAGGAGE, THEY WILL BE GIVEN BACK TO YOU SHORTLY."
As you walk off the craft and follow the group, your heart starts to race. "What am I going to do?" As you walk into the large open airport like hall, you see people getting their baggage from a kind of, robot? There's a food store with other small shops. This whole damn place looks sci-fi as hell. You then see a sign that says, EXIT.

You hesitate ... THAT, is a LONG WAY DOWN. You can't even see the bottom!
The creature suddenly crashes through the wall! Debris go flying everywhere! In a panic you yell out as you make the jump! You feel the hair on the back of your head get touched as the creatures large claws miss you by 1/100th of an inch!
That sickening feeling you get when falling, now spreads throughout your body! The wind blowing past you as fall gets louder and faster! Then a person dressed in black pops out another maintenance tunnel way below you. They're aiming a rifle at you.
WHAT?!! ARE YOU SH**ING ME?!
A loud POP and a flash of blue light leaves the rifle as you feel a solid THUD right in your gut like you were just punched! You then feel a tightening feeling around your waist, legs and shoulders.
A HARNESS?! HOW'D THAT GET THERE!
A sudden pull brakes your fall and you go slamming into the side of the concrete wall. The impact knocks off your glasses and makes you lose the phone! The water jar that was in your pocket is smashed, getting water all over you. You hold onto the harness line as it pulls you up like batman!
As you look up, the creature SCREAMS at you. As if to say "GET BACK HERE!" The creature then starts to use its claws to smash into the concrete walls to use as leverage to crawl down the giant air shaft after you!
Suddenly a man in armor and black gear grabs you and pulls you up into the maintenance tunnel.
"WE GOT YOU DOCTOR!" He then yells at another person in the tunnel behind you. "GET THEM TO EVAC NOW!!"
The other person grabs you and pulls you down the tunnel! At the end of the hatch is a room with other soldiers! They quickly cover you with a blanket and rush you down a hallway. Through the doors is a large bay area with a vehicle that looks like an armored transport of some kind. You're rushed in and sat down along with a few other people that look like survivors.
The doors closes and the transport drives down another tunnel road. You just stay silent.
A while passes as you can feel the tilt of the transport driving up. Then finally, light ... sun light through the small port holes along the wall of the transport. The interior of the transport lights up nearly blinding you. It's as if you haven't seen sun light in ... forever.
It's been maybe an hour now. Some of the survivors try and make conversation, but you stay silent.
You can hear them saying that it might be because you're in shock. Shock, yes .... I'll play that story for now. They think I'm a doctor. Maybe the phone belonged to a doctor? I mean you are dressed like someone from the lab so ...
Finally the transport stops. You can hear a lot of noise! People yelling orders, vehicles moving. It sounds like chaos. The door opens and soldiers rush you out. It's cold, REALLY COLD! Snow everywhere. You're at a type of base like airport, with buildings, tents, vehicles, cargo and everyone running around. It's total panic! Like if everyone is getting ready for something big.
You see a chance to get lost in the crowd. Open containers that look like there about to be loaded onto a flying transport, people that look like they are evacuating into another flying transport. Other people look like there loading up into a type of bus headed to a port.
What do you do?

You take aim and FIRE! A bright blue light flashes from the side of your gun! You hear a satisfying WHACK!!! RIGHT IN ITS EYE!! Flesh and blood spread everywhere! Then electricity flashes and sparks everywhere! What was in that bullet?!
You shield your eyes for second at the intense light. But then ... nothing. Deep breathing sounds. The creature looks at you. Its head already mostly inside the ripped apart steel tunnel. It stares at you as if to say " That's it? "
IT LUNGES AT YOU!! You yell out as you fire as many times as you can! All the while using your feet and legs to push yourself back, deeper into the tunnel! The gun is now empty and you throw it at the creature as is it screams and roars while ripping the metal walls apart and moving closer to you!
You turn around and head down the RED lit maintenance tunnel. The phone goes off again! You look down at it but don't have a CLUE as to how to answer it. It's just a blue circle. You touch it, nothing. You swipe it, nothing. WTF ?!
You put the phone away but keep moving! That's when you find it. Another room. But this room, is a large concrete air vent going straight down and up for what looks like miles. Large spinning fans are above and below with a single railed walk way going across. The wind blowing down is pretty strong and so you hold onto the rails as you move quickly across this small walkway. Looking down makes your knees weak.
DON'T ... look down.
As you get to the other side, there's a door. It has a coded lock.
SH**!
Just then, the concrete wall on the other side starts to crack and break apart. Unearthly screams and nightmare level red flesh and claws starts to brake through! The concrete pieces falling off the wall slam into the large spinning blades bellow. Both fans then stop with a loud sound. Like a train slamming on the brakes.
The creature starts to break through!
The phone calls again! HOW DO YOU ANSWER THIS THING! You yell at it. HELLO?!
The phone flashes and a Text pops up on the lock screen. It says, JUMP NOW!!!

You turn around and race to the hatch door! All the while you can hear the creature smashing it's way through the ceiling of the already crushed elevator.
The crushing of metal and growling are getting louder now! You turn around and catch a glimpse of the a nightmare chewing it's way through the metal elevator. Seemingly unfazed of the metal cutting into its own flesh as it uses its massive teeth to bend and brake the elevators ceiling.
You open the hatch door and the hatch pops open and slides to the side. Your heart feels relived as you begin to enter the hatch and then you hear a loud POP.
The lights die. All electrical humming ... stops. The power, is out.
You are blind. No light at all. Nothing. Your high-tech glasses aren't even helping. They just say Maintenance Tunnel B-9 West. Feeling your way, you manage to get into the hatch and start crawling down the maintenance tunnel. You get about 20 feet away from the hatch door when you hear a loud SMASH and then ... silence.
You stop moving, and listen.
Tapping sounds, growling, the breathing of a large powerful creature fill the area you're in.
"It ... got out."
You hold your breath. The maintenance hatch is way to small for that thing to enter and you're far enough away that it couldn't possible reach you.
The sounds get closer and closer. You close your eyes and clench your fists. The sounds of the creature climbing the elevator shaft get sickeningly closer, then stops. Your heart feels like it's going to stop. But then the creature moves on and climbs past the hatch.
It didn't find you! It must not be able to smell very good. You've been sweating your ass off. There's no way you don't stink.
Just then the power comes back on, but only partially. Red lights every 10 feet or so light the way through the tunnel. You begin to move slowly but then your pocket starts playing music! LOUD music! You frantically look for what's making the noise and find that it's the cellphone looking thing that you picked up from the lab!
A hellish scream floods the tunnel as the creature rushes down to the hatch and begins clawing at the entryway!

You quickly grab the manual override handle and shut the elevator door. It locks with a satisfying Kah-chank. Next, you look up and see the hatch! There isn't much in the way of being able to get up there though. You jump as high as you can and manage to grab the edge of the hatch.
Hanging there, you use your other hand to unlock and slide open the hatch door. However, doing so makes you lose your grip and you fall back down to the floor. You quickly get back on your feet ... and hear a scream so loud ... so unfathomably loud ... like if was right outside the door.
It sounded like a nightmare. Like a thousand women screaming at the top of their lungs in pain. Then ...... silence.
After only a moment ... the deepest darkest most unnatural growl sends shivers down your spine. You overcome your fear and jump to the hatch just grabbing it!
As you start to lift yourself up, you hear a loud slam against the door. It's as if a truck was ramming the elevator door at highway speeds! The whole elevator shakes! With your adrenaline PUMPING, you manage to pull yourself up through the hatch!
Another loud SLAM on the elevator door! The door starts to buckle! Another hell scream from the creature nearly knocks you unconscious as you cover you ears with all your might!. It's like standing next to a jet engine at full throttle for a few seconds.
Your ears hurt and you feel sick and dizzy as the fear and adrenaline surge through your veins. You see handles on the side of the elevator shaft wall. You run to them! FOCUS DAMN IT ! CLIMB !
Another large SLAM and the elevator door gives way. You can hear clawing and growling with the smashing of metal. Your eyes are glued to the endless row of lights above you that seem to go on forever as you climb.
More smashing sounds and growling and then ..... silence.
All you can hear, is you. Your breath, your hands and feet as they climb the side of the wall.
Your heart beating hard. You, are the loudest thing in this place.
You stop for a second, and whip your head around only to see this thing looking back at you through the elevator hatch.
It's big. Too big to fit through the hatch. With skin that looks like bloody flesh and eyes that are black with a red slit for a pupil. It stares at you as if to say ... "There you are."
Your pretty high up now. Maybe 4 or 5 floors.
To your right, looks like some kind of control motor attached to what looks like an electromagnetic track. The elevator must be electromagnetically propelled.
A little higher up seems to be some kind of maintenance hatch.

You keep moving. It might be someone that actually needs help, but it could also be how you get yourself killed. You keep going. As you make your way to the large door, you use your ring to open it.
It opens. You step inside.
But, where is the floor buttons? There's nothing here. Maybe its voice activated? You begin to open your mouth but stop half way ...
What if " IT " hears me? Do I take that risk? ... You decide to take the chance.
Opening your mouth you attempt to speak for the first time since you left the pod. Suddenly, your throat hurts and you go into a coughing fit. YOU DESPERATELY try to stop coughing by holding your chest and mouth. Even with the breathing mask on, your cough is pretty loud.
Finally, you get control over the coughing. You begin to speak to yourself, but you sound hoarse. It's as if your speaking for the first time in years ... or forever. You try to speak out and ask the lift to take you to the first floor.
A computerized voice answers you.
"" VOICE PATTERN NOT RECOGNIZED ""
Your heart sinks ... Now what? Just then you hear a door open from down the hall. It was the door to the locker room. A lady steps out into the hallway. She's holding her arm and limping a little. She turned to you and for a moment, both of you stare at each other.
"What are you doing?" She askes. "Everything is in lockdown. We have to wait for security to get here."
Just then, the blood door all the way down on the other end of the hallway opens. Both of you look down in that direction.
The lights in that room are flickering and you can just make out the silhouette of something large, hunched over, with long arms or maybe legs? You can't really tell how many though. You can't see if it even has a face. But you can see ... teeth. The thing looks bigger than the doorway itself.
The woman whispers " He's here." then looks at you as she backs into the locker room slowly, pointing upwards before disappearing into the room.
You look up, and see an emergency hatch. Also, by the door, is a manual override door handle.
What do you do?

NOW you have a way out. You can worry about all the strange stuff about this place later. As you leave the room the cool air of the hallway hits your face. What is up with this hot and cold bullsh!t.
You start to follow the red wave of lights on the ground as they seem to carry you to the exit. The map said that the lift was in this direction so ya, this must be the right way.
You pass the door to the lab on your left and keep walking down the hallway to the T intersection. As you get there, you slowly peek out to look left and right. You've seen enough horror films to know that fast and loud will get you killed every time.
To the left is a hallway that stops at a door. The door has what looks like blood on it. Bloody cloths and debris are pilled up next to the door. It's as if someone, or something, threw it out like garbage.
To the right is another long hallway. It has 2 doors along it's right side and a large door at the end. You can just make out the words LIFT next to the large door at the end.
THAT'S IT. Our ticket out.
You go right, because going left to the bloody door of death isn't an option.
You have a GUN now. But you've seen enough cop shows to know not to put your finger on the trigger. This is just encase something scares you like a loud noise, you won't go shooting up the place before realizing that there's nothing there.
As you point the gun in front of you with your finger pointed straight down the barrel and not on the trigger, you come to the first door on the right. LOCKER ROOM A.
You decide to keep moving. As you get closer to the next door on the right, you see a sign. LOCKER ROOM B. And that's when you hear it.
Crying...
Sounds like a woman crying in locker room B. She could be hurt. Or maybe even help us!

Hello, I am Vaos. I play games. Mostly Kerbal Space Program but there are others from time to time. I'm also an artist. Not professionally but I can say that I am “ decent.”
I’ve been playing Kerbal Space Program ever since it came out 10 or so years ago. In fact, I built this channel around that game. Eventually, I’ll start playing other games and stop focusing solely on KSP. But for now, the rockets will FLY!
I upload content when I can depending on my work schedule. As of right now I am not working for YouTube … yet. So I have to rely on a normal job.
I say normal, but driving 22 wheeler low boys and operating heavy machinery, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loader’s just to name a few, might not be the most typical job in the world. But it puts a roof over my head and food on the table. That’s what counts.
