First upload of 2025 is a New Year's Eve trip to a local fishery with my daughter. She's a bundle of energy and the reason I'm still here. I hope my little fishing films continue to give people enjoyment and escapism. Keep fishing. Keep smiling. Hope 2025 is good to you all.

My latest Channel Members film is up for some weekend viewing. Over an hour on the art of fishing shallow with meat. I shot this after competing in the Lanes Festival as, in hindsight, it was a method I definitely should have used on at least one of the days. It was certainly good to get back on the lake and do it!

It's taken forever to edit, but the first two days of the Guru Lanes Festival are finally up in my Channel Members area! The next three are ready and waiting and will go up over the next few days. Hopefully I can upload a version with all five days in one film, too, which will be almost three hours of action (and inaction!). Some proper up-and-down sport. The final day will be a particularly memorable one... Enjoy!

SPECIMEN ALERT! Thought this was a baby barbel when I netted itβ¦ but itβs a HUGE gudgeon!!! Had it at a local farm pond yesterday on sweetcorn. The owner reckons thereβs even bigger in there after he very kindly popped it on his kitchen scales. The pic doesn't do it justice, but it weighed 5oz 14drm! Well chuffed with a micro species of a lifetime! What shall we call him or her?
