I wrote this for Baby...
My Cockatoo

A little bird came into my life and stole away my soul

Alive with life but empty like a ship without a hull

I didn't know that I was dead just a shell of my old self

Just a photograph of a happier time sitting on a shelf

This little bird demanded all of my energy and time

Fulfilling her every little need right down to my last dime

I loved her just as much as if she was a babe in arms

Because she lifted my spirits high with her effervescent charm

My little bird who was supposed to be nothing more than just a pet

Became the light inside of me my best relationship yet

For every day I wake up and cannot wait to see her face

For He knew just what I needed and this was truly God's pure grace

So blessed to have my cockatoo an Angel all in white

Who fills my every moment and all my lonely nights

I love her as my child and consider her my friend

For she took an aching part of me and helped my soul to mend

I thought Baby was sick because instead of regurgitating like she normally does when she lays an egg she was throwing up. I took her to the vet yesterday and she was pretty sure it was an egg and 3 hours after we got home I actually got to see her laying it for the first time. It was pretty amazing! I am so relieved my Baby is fine and nesting with her unfertilized egg (no male) She's healthy and I'm so thankful 🙏💜
