New channel logo! Antiochus VII served us very well for the first 3 years of this channel's history, but now he steps aside for the incredible Alexander the Great and his iconic Hercules wearing the skin of the nemean lion design. An incredible, visually striking design for one of the world's most important coins ever.
And if you want to have Alexander's coin design AND the new channel logo on your T-Shirt, the link is here!

My great friend, Damian from @Numischannel recently interviewed Ursula Kampmann, one of the best numismatists of our time. This interview was recorded in English and has been subtitled to multiple languages.
She has written a number of books and articles on ancient coinage, runs the CoinsWeekly website and is one of the great defenders of our esteemed hobby, against those that think us, "normal people" should not partake in ancient numismatics.
This video is nothing short of brilliant. Two very competent numismatists I deeply admire, discussing our great hobby, I strongly recommend you watch it.
I still get plenty of comments on my videos asking how to spot and avoid fake Ancient Coins. I have already made videos on the subject. Here you can see my video on how to spot cast fakes, the most common type of counterfeit out there. I hope this helps the beginners.
Gooold! I should make a new video on gold coins again, these are some great eye candy. In the meantime, here is the very first "Gold Coins" video, published over two years ago. Have you checked it out?
FEL TEMP REPARATIO, "The Restoration of Happy Times" was a series of billon coins struck under Constantius II and Constans as they reformed the Roman monetary system. Do you have any FEL TEMP coins?
Throwback Thursday! Two years ago I made this really cool video exploring all the most common Roman Imperial Denominations, have you seen it yet? Forgive the bad audio, but the lovely coins make up for it!

The Siliqua was the last denomination is good silver struck by the Western Roman Empire. Here we can see an early example struck by Constantius II, weighting over 3 grams, similar to a Denarius of the second century. Next to it, a reduced Siliqua struck by Julian II, greatly reduced in weight to around 1.6 grams. Which is your favorite Silver Roman coin?
Did you know the most popular video on the channel, by FAR, is not just about coins, but also a cautionary tale about how to avoid the worse aspects of collecting? Its a very interesting reflection and a video Im very proud of. If you havent seen it, you can watch it here!
